Hello my name is Michael Smith.

I have lived in Ilkley all my life and have played tennis since the early age of seven and throughout my years at school. At sixteen I made the decision to leave education to pursue a career in competitive tennis. I played on the Men's British Tour circuit from eighteen to twenty five alongside training and competing for Leeds Beckett University in division one and for Ilkley Lawn Tennis And Squash Club in local and national leagues. I have enjoyed the experience of playing full time but now I have found a passion for teaching this incredible sport! I have qualified as a LTA tennis coach and I am excited to offer private tennis coaching sessions at the Ilkley Lido. There is no need to be a member of any tennis club to attend these sessions.
